Will You Pull The Wagon Or Ride In It?

This is an excerpt from D’Souza’s debate with Michael Shermer at Oregon State University on October 8, 2012:

“The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not.”
—Thomas Jefferson

Through D'Souza's trademark incisiveness, wit, and originality, United States of Socialism reveals how the Left uses the Venezuelan formula for socialism, decisively refutes this new face of socialism, chillingly documents the full range of the Left’s gangster tendencies, and provocatively exposes the tactics of the socialist Left.

Dinesh, you are one of our finest citizens. The liberals get all the news and I believe you are changing that but your words are reasonable and attract a huge number of otherwise unheard Americans. You articulate what many think and believe but do not say in public.

Thank you for being who you are. I was born here in the USA and have worked over 40 years. At 64 I am disturbed by the politics I see. I feel if one is to believe the statistical data, I have hope because I understand that the progressives only rank around 20 per cent. The blatant display that what they want is the popular way disgusts me. I have labelled them as bullies for calling the average American names because of their basic belief in less government intrusion into one’s individual life. I want my country back, and I am very thankful for your views. The one thing those in charge fail to recall is that we started this country due to the very thing they have become. The individual American spirit is one that big government cannot destroy. We will fight for our individual freedom and individual rights. We have allowed too much agency oversight into our lives that does violate the Constitution. The agencies like the EPA, IRS, FCC, etc., have absolute individual power that violates our ability to have life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness (changed by our founding fathers from pursuit of property to pursuit of happiness). I do a lot of reading. I encourage voting as a privilege. I just bought your movie America and will watch it this weekend. Personally, I find it appalling the treatment and confinement you must now be enduring. Thank you for being who you are. I appreciate all your efforts. Should you need my help, please contact me. Best regards, Etta Talbert-Eakin
