VIDEO: Gonzaga Caves, Won’t Shut Public Out Of D’Souza Speech

Originally posted at Breitbart.

Earlier this week, Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA announced it had reconsidered its previous decision to not to open Dinesh D’Souza’s Young America’s Foundation-sponsored lecture to the public.

Students informed Young America’s Foundation that an administrator had referred to D’Souza as a “nasty guy,” claimed he contradicted the school’s “social justice mission,” and refused to allow members of the public to attend his lecture.

A torrent of media coverage alarmed the local community and student leaders worked hard to apply pressure to the school.

Watch the talk here:

Ben Dubois, chair of Gonzaga’s campus conservative club, told YAF: “There was an appeal process straight to our school president. He told us that he was not allowed to state his opinion until we appealed. He had a few concerns about as many students who wanted to go would be able to and thus he came up with a two stage ticketing process where tickets are open to Gonzaga students and faculty first. He overturned the original ruling of the school to keep the event closed to the public.”

I am a big fan also, people need to listen to him and see his movies so they know what’s really up with this Administration and Hillary Clinton.. They have
plans for America and the closer we get to elections the more we will see that. God, please give us back our country. Bless us as you have in the past before we took your gift to us for granted.

Mostly brilliant remarks, as we have come to expect from you, Dinesh D’Souza. One critique of this speech: From now on I’m hoping you will choose a better word picture than that of stomping on a dog, with the cheap and unintelligent followup about cats. I was ready to share your video with my liberal and conservative friends until this point. As you know, it only takes one sticking point to make people throw out the entirety of your remarks. Why ruin an otherwise brilliant speech with what is sure to alienate animal lovers like me? You are in the national spotlight, so every word that comes out of your mouth or is posted on social media is up for inspection by millions. Keep your standards high at all times–you can be funny without substandard or flippant remarks.

I am looking forward to reading Stealing America, as I have learned a lot from all your other books and DVDs. Keep up the great work!

Thank you, Mr. D’Souza. With your help, I anticipate that people of more/less color will sever the rope that binds.Climbing, rather than being pulled up and out as weeds, is the way out of an unhappy circumstance. I believe although poor, intrinsic learners can grow intellectually and emotionally, even in gravel and between pavement’s cracks. Truth and facts climb out of evil’s darkness, and up into justice’s healthy sunlight. It is the liberating process that sets us all free.

    @L. Jeanne Normon,

I understand that for you all it took was the joke about the dog and the cat but for me that was not even slightly a problem. I did laugh and understood the fact it was meant to be a joke and accepted it as that.

You are naive if you believe that everyone feels as you feel and you are also naive if you feel that your liberal or conservative friends would not find something else in Mr. D’Souza’s talk that they would object to and may even cause them to tune out as you feel the dog and cat joke would.

It’s a shame you are so intolerant of such an innocent joke even if you feel it was in poor taste.

My guess is that you are in fact a lib. You display the characteristics by claiming to be tolerant yet intolerant at the same time. Good luck with that…

This was a great and thought provoking presentation by Mr. D’Souza. I was a disappointed wit the question and answer session because it was nearly impossible to hear the guy that was reading the questions. You could see that he had a microphone but it was apparent that the microphone and/or amplifier were not doing their job. It was disappointing to see that the renowned Gonzaga University did not have the sound system installed and tested before the presentation and even more disappointing that they were not monitoring what was being streamed so that they could have resolved the problem as soon as it was apparent.

It drives me nuts to see someone like you that was not born here come with such spirit and preparedness to tell our lazy citizens of what they are loosing if they do not take charge. Kudos to you!

I am going to have to get you and KrisAnne Hall together for a day of Constitutional Awareness in the spring of 2017…a perfect venue on the grounds of the Red River, land grab by the BLM…

Imagine the fireworks!…care to chat over the prospects? …

Amazing talk…. I’ve heard many speeches– including leftest. To dismantle every major leftist belief in 45 minutes off the top of his head shows D’Souza brilliant. Contrast that with the loon “proposing the loving rules.”

Can you possibly imagine our Prevaricator-in-Chief handling himself so eloquently and cogently in a no-teleprompter, off the cuff speech for over an hour and a half? He never even takes questions that aren’t carefully vetted and culled ahead of time, and then only for a couple of minutes. Bravo to Mr D’Souza for an intellectual and ideological tour d’force. Positively brilliant!

Dinesh, please be a moderator for the next debate for the POTUS from the Democratic party. We need your common sense in the discussion. Democrats are pushing this country over the cliff of insanity. Please keep speaking out.

Kind of boring and predominantly and expectedly dogmatic. He excludes the obvious and ends up being a pitiful Republican anti-democrat propoganda machine…. Dinesh said, “Slavery… is an invention of the dem. party.” Really? And he ignored addressing Nixon’s Southern Strategy. During Q/A, they asked him about educational justice and he said Clinton and Sanders say student future earnings will be effected by Clinton and Sanders claim for free college education. And he ignored that the present situation of gross college tuition debt already over-burdens graduating students future earnings.
