TheBlaze: Dinesh D'Souza and Bill Ayers Battle During Contentious "Kelly File" Debate

Originally published at TheBlaze.

During a contentious interview aired on The Kelly File Wednesday, filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza and former domestic terrorist Bill Ayers clashed over everything from American exceptionalism to the violent tactics employed by the Weather Underground back in the 1960s and 70s.

At one point, Ayers openly admitted that he is “not proud to be an American” and said he doesn’t buy into the notion of American exceptionalism, a point which D’Souza strongly disagreed with.

D’Souza, who came to the United States from India as an exchange student in 1978, said he has seen first-hand why the United States is an exceptional nation because he’s lived in other cultures.

He also said other nations, like Russia, would abuse the power that comes with being the world’s top superpower more egregiously than America has.

D’Souza also hit Ayers on his past involvement in domestic terrorism, saying “there was a big difference between Martin Luther King [Jr.] breaking the law and Bill Ayers breaking the law.” Dr. King used non-violent methods to protest an unjust society and proudly went to jail to make a point. Ayers used violent tactics and fled justice, D’Souza said.

His rant came after Ayers claimed that he and the radical group he founded “were never terrorists.”

On Iraq, Ayers claimed the turmoil that is gripping the country is the result of the United States’ invasion following the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. He also accused the U.S. of blaming the “brown people” by blaming Shiite Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki for the instability facing the nation.

D’Souza admitted that invading Iraq was a “mistake” in retrospect, but explained that America has spent a lot of money in its bid to give the country freedom over its own affairs.

I cannot believe Ayers, and many others still believe the Soviet propaganda Ion Mihai Pacepa so clearly described in his last book: “Disinformation” . Lenin’s Western idiots! Mr. Ayers might not be proud to be American, well I who lived under the Communist terror in Eastern Europe, I am very proud to have became American. Contrary to Ayers, to Chomsky and the rest of Lenin’s idiots who serve a criminal ideology (communism) but get American dollars to perpetuate lies, I know the truth. And the truth is simple: Communism, Soviet Union, Communist Cuba, Communist China destroyed the world, not America. To defend Communism is in my opinion the same with saying Holocaust was a good idea. Shame on you Ayers and the rest of you, shame on you for serving the ideology of those who killed millions, and continue to do so, shame on you for spitting on the graves of millions of individuals killed and tortured in Ukraine, Romania, Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Cambodia, Russia, China, Cuba, Venezuela, and so many other countries where the Communist terror has infiltrated .

Mr. Ayers, before re-writing the history of my country and of the half of the planet from your comfortable chair I suggest you to visit the Global Museum of Communism:

    and watch a documentary:

That will give you a first glimpse in what was, (still is) the most horrific ideology you serve: Communism.

And if you are still unconvinced, I invite you to immigrate in Cuba, get a job there and then speak..

This guy -Ayers is a person who destroyed things. He is in denial about the shameful actions he perpetrated against the American people. We are a country of Abraham Lincoln; George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, and Wilbur and Orville Wright. Yes, Bill you can be ashamed of America; but maybe you should just be ashamed of your extreme wrong doing. You are a traitor and not a patriot. Just a person who seems to want to atone for your many wrongdoings, in the past, the people would call them a strange word-sin. We are the most patriotic nation in the world; you are not a good guy; you are a stranger here. We give billions to help other countries children, but maybe you have not helped them, you probably think that is foolish as well. Get real, move to another country.

Dinesh (may I use your given name?),

Thanks for representing the rest of us in confronting that murderous monster on the Kelly File.

What those who level a blanket accusation of genocide at anyone whose skin is less than a given shade of tan (although neither THEY nor WE were there at the time) neglect to mention is the genocide previously committed (and ongoing), by those who occupied the land when the Europeans arrived. There was no such thing as a single native nation at the time and there was a continuous culture of war interspersed throughout the northern and southern continents. I happen to be part Cherokee, and will be the first to say there was no consideration given to whether or not our ancestral enemies were wiped from the face of the earth. Who speaks for the nation of little people, wiped out by the Ute Tribe (by their own admission, in their own tribal lore)? Who speaks for the Fremont and the Anasazi, some of whom were presumably assimilated and/or ancestral stock for Pueblo-types, but were mostly wiped out and killed. Why don’t the Paiutes speak up about the systematic predation by Utes and Navajoes to sell their children to Spanish slave traders? Hundreds of other North and South American peoples wiped from the face of the earth – their blood nourished the ground for the whiners who exterminated them, who in turn were
to learn first-hand the ultimate sorrow of dispossession, if not the heinous mutilations and live disembowelings inflicted on their previous victims. Maybe I should start whining a little more about my celtic ancestors on my father’s side and go back and demand the return of tribal assets from the British government! After all, the “Prince of Wales” certainly was not elected by my father’s “tribe!” I mean OMG, you self-centered crybabies, we ALL came from tribes who have been dispossessed of their lands and often mass-exterminated when we resisted, so GET OVER IT!!!

    Comment #2:

Not sure how to term this – perhaps the elephant in the living room? For every Bill Ayers and his Band of Merry Anarchists, there is a salaried Soviet Agent/Fomentor in the shadows, working from the Soviet Embassy and frequently posing as a “journalist,” “trade representative,” or any of a raft of of other benign-sounding names of possible government functionaries (keep in mind that the title of mere “businessman” (from Russia? 🙂 ) was not credible in the Cold War era, for obvious reasons.

Nearly any 70’s era autobiography you pick up (or, for that matter, the biography of prominent terrorists, such as Abu Nidal can shed additional light on hostile operators), from Soviet defectors will give independently consistent accounts across the board of a fascinating system of developing “cooperating citizens” from the host country to help undermine their own nation’s foreign and domestic policy. [If you subscribe to the adage that a leopard never changes its spots, then similar patterns are STILL currently being acted out as we speak by Russia, China and other enemies of state.]

These citizens came under two categories: a) the “dupes” who unknowingly parroted and printed foreign-generated propaganda. They were often domestic U.S. journalists and/or naive citizens (ex: Jane Fonda) who were befriended by foreign agents and persuaded of the Soviet Union’s “benign” intentions and, b) the “knowing complicits,” who willingly worked hand-in-glove with hostile foreign agents and often received funding, material and logistical support.

Bill? Well he strikes me as a “knowing complicit,” who likely still has lunch dates with pals on the wrong side….

Which brings me to a gnawing feeling I’ve had, ever since I declared Obama to be the next Jimmy Carter, early in his first presidential campaign: (Would God that it were so benign!)

Do most of us agree you judge a man by what he does and not what he says? If so, I don’t think our country’s worst enemies could have done a better job, had they groomed a child from boyhood, to one day run for president of the U.S.A., then work to systematically destroy this country from the top……wait a minute, you don’t think?…..noooooooo……..

Mr. D’Souza – thank you for setting the record straight. I am old enough to have been taught the true history of our Country. I am sick of the people who want to destroy the United States. If it is so bad, why don’t they leave? I just saw “America” with my family and it is great!

Dear Dinesh: May God continue to bless you! Thank you so much for “America” and “2016, O—a’s America”. The film brought the truth back into view. So many, the younger folks (I ‘m 60) have been lied to, for so long that they only believe the re-write of America’s history. We MUST continue to have the conversations about race, minorities and the wealthy. Only by having discussions with our neighbors can the divides be shortened. With God’s help, and the passion of those like yourself, we can be a united country again. “And why shouldn’t we, after all, we,.are Americans!” God Bless you. Walt and Laureen. Philadelphia. Pa.

    To Mr. Daniel,
Thank you for speaking the truth. Please continue to remind people like Bill Ayers what the real truth is, remind them that even though this country is not perfect, you can speak the truth without fear. I also want to thank you for coming to the United States, you have made this country a better place, by reminding us of the horrors that take place in other parts of the world.

    To Mr Dinesh D’Souza,
Thank you for continuing to provide these informative films and debates. Even though I’m only 12 days older than you (yes we share a birth month and year), I look up to your wisdom, knowledge and courage. Please continue to remind the people of this great country the real truth, too many of the younger Americans today have bought into the lies, because that is what they are being taught in school by people like Bill Ayers.

    for Megan Kelly and Dinesh
I would like to hear what Mr. Ayers thinks of America’s current policies under the President. What does he think about the current transparency and unilateral actions of America not only against it’s citizens. Revolution goes both ways it’s the principal and truth behind it.

Why didn’t Robert Kennedy step in in the 60’s on behalf of the Civil Rights Movement?

What does he think about America today with regard to his beliefs?
What does he think of the government actions against you?

I graduated from FSU and stopped supporting them because they gave Bill Ayers a forum. Their right to do and my right to drop them. While I have watched Megan Kelly the two times I have seen Dinesh on her show I must admit she appears clueless. Bill saying Dinesh is dreaming (this from a professor) without offering prove is classic. Dinesh sites his sources Professor and did not hide his mistake. You are a liar, (Dreams of My Father) and (Did not know Obama). So when did you decide to start telling the truth? Megan who won the spot on Fox for being tough everyone else seem to be clueless on how to get Bill to allow a debate. The left always tries to out talk and then claim Moral high ground. They just can’t tell you where morality comes from. Not sure Megan is ready for heavy weights her interview Most time Megan interviews reminds of Bill Oreillly’s No spin zone until he interview’s Obama. Maybe she should take her own advice and come to the interview prepared to handle a guy who dominates by out talking his rival. As for Dinesh this man is not worthy to be on the same stag. People who seek truth will find it. You will not get a fair and balance debate from any news media. Thanks your book is great and unlike Bill Ayers you are an asset to this country .

Being of the younger generation, I now realize how I was being brainwashed throughout my school years. After watching this excellent documentary by Mr. D’Souza, I was able to gain a clearer perspective on America’s history. Now I realize all the lies they have told me and all the other pertinent information they selectively omitted. This is very scary. This is why it is our duty and responsibility to teach and inform our children about the real truth of this wonderful nation. Thanks to Mr. D’Souza for making such an excellent documentary. Two thumbs up for him!!!

PS: Keep making more films Mr. D’Souza!

Bill Ayers is not just a communist and terrorist he is a satanic liar. I praise God for D’Souza and thank him for being a man from a foreign country who loves, admires and speaks the truth about the one he chose to adopt as his own. Imagine that Bill Ayers, Hillary Clinton, Barrack Hussein Obama would rather give their allegiance to Lucifer, who was one of Sal Alinsky’s personal hero’s.Imagine the shame these pukes have not only brought on themselves, but on the America who allowed them to soar. These people have no conscience except to make certain they destroy America, as the termites they are, from the inside out like cancer.

Fantastic film! Our country has been like that proverbial “Frog in the Water” for generations! Think the brain washing in our educational system started in the 60s! AMERICA should be required viewing for all students!

Ayers did a pretty good job against such a stacked deck. He takes america for what it is, good and bad. D’Souza can only say “we ain’t perfect, but our intentions always are.” Total nonsense. Just because because we’re not as bad as the Russians would be, doesn’t give us a free pass. It’s not pleasant to look into the mirror. Dinesh and crew makes sure there’s no mirrors to be found.

If you think Ayers did such a great job and you agree with him then why don’t you go live in a communist country with him? Oh yeah, because this IS a great country and it does a much better job with the cards it is dealt than any other country. I’m sure you would be a much better asset to them than the United States. Unfortunately if the people don’t wake up and vote for the better people we will be a shell of what we were and overtaken by the rest of the developing world. So god job to you if that happens for ruining this great country.
