Fox News: Nicole Kidman Says the Country Needs to Get Behind President Trump

Originally posted at Fox News.

Nicole Kidman thinks it’s time Americans get behind President-elect Donald Trump.

The actress, who was born in Hawaii but raised in Australia, said it’s time to let go and accept the results of the election.

“[Trump is] now elected and we, as a country, need to support whoever is the president,” Kidman said on the red carpet for her new film “Lion.”

The actress, who lives in Nashville with her country superstar husband and holds dual Australian and American citizenship, added, “That is what the country is based on. And however that happened, it happened, and let’s go.”

Kidman’s opinion differs greatly from most of her Hollywood colleagues. Most recently, Meryl Streep was praised by her fellow celebrities for standing up against the President-elect in her Golden Globes acceptance speech.

However, there are some stars who are sick of their fellow entertainers’ political rants.

Country star Travis Tritt said on Twitter earlier this week, “If you have fans who respect your talent enough to spend hard earned money to see your talent, be thankful and gracious and leave it at that.”

Piers Morgan echoed Tritt’s words, adding he hasn’t “heard such elitist snobbery since Hillary Clinton branded Trump supporters ‘a basket of deplorables.'”

All the Hollywood crowd, the liberal left, and the bashers of Trump voters are doing is assuring Trump of 8 years and possibly more for the GOP. The Democrats have shown to all America their true colors. They are corrupt and divisive and in many cases downright evil. They can’t see that by delegitimizing his election, they are delegitimizing all who voted for him. We won’t forget.

Perhaps Keith should join Toby Keith and perform at the inauguration and then the country will know where the Urban family stands…. I personally agree with Congressman Lewis….

“I think the Russians participated in helping this man get elected. And they helped destroy the candidacy of Hillary Clinton,” Lewis said.

Trump acknowledged this week that Russia was responsible for some hacking during the campaign, though the president-elect and many on his team assert that it had no affect on election results.

Lewis, in the interview, also said he wouldn’t attend the inauguration.

“I don’t plan to attend the inauguration. It will be the first one that I miss since I’ve been in Congress,” Lewis said. “You cannot be at home with something that you feel that is wrong, is not right.”

That is way I didn’t watch the Obama Inauguration. I hated Obama’s reign but because he was elected as our President, he was also my President because I am an American Citizen.

I believe the right of Congressman Lewis to not attend the Presidential Inauguration is strictly his own. However, to dismiss the fact that the American people chose Mr Trump to represent this country, yet he refuses to accept him as our President? Shame on him! There was never 100% support for Mr Obama either. So why do the citizens that support Donald Trump have to listen to the criticism from the news media, celebrities and others still? He won and btw..hasn’t even taken office yet. Get on board you naysayers and give this new President a chance..Every mother has told their child..if you don’t have anything good to say about someone, say nothing at all!..let’s remember her words..

Let’s all help to make this country great again !!!

Thank you all that telllng of your support for Trump as he was elected so give him a chance to clean the mess Obama has made . If Hillary was so great as some think she is then why did Arkansas vote Trump instead of her . Her husband Bill wà Gov. Of Ar.? I thank God she wasn’t elected as that would have been a disastrous to our country.
