Hollywood Reporter: D'Souza's "America" Soars on the 4th

Dinesh D’Souza’s America soars more than 60 percent.

Dinesh D’Souza’s America, which expanded nationwide Wednesday after opening in Houston and Atlanta last weekend, prospered on Friday, soaring more than 60 percent day-over-day to $1 million. That compares, for example, to a 16 percent bump for Tammy. America is only playing in 1,100 locations, far fewer theaters than the other new holiday films.

America, placing No. 11, won’t match the $6.5 million nationwide launch of D’Souza’s hit documentary 2016: Obama’s America two years ago, but is nevertheless expected to pull in a respectable $4.5 million for the five days.

Lionsgate is distributing America, which debunks the narrative that the United States has been a force of evil across the world through a combination of historical re-creations and interviews with some of the country’s harshest critics, including former Weather Underground radical Bill Ayers.

Through D'Souza's trademark incisiveness, wit, and originality, United States of Socialism reveals how the Left uses the Venezuelan formula for socialism, decisively refutes this new face of socialism, chillingly documents the full range of the Left’s gangster tendencies, and provocatively exposes the tactics of the socialist Left.

I loved this film!!!! Have also read and loved the book! I downloaded the soundtrack from iTunes, but it doesn’t have the songs with vocals from the film – are those available, too? And the songs from the trailers?
