Dinesh D’Souza’s latest documentary film Hillary’s America: The Secret History of the Democratic Party opened this weekend as the top theater average of 2016 for a political documentaries so far, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The film earned an estimated $77,500 from three theaters, for an average of $25,833.
D’Souza’s film outdid Weiner, a documentary about former New York Rep. Anthony Wiener’s failed political comeback as New York mayor. Weiner was shown in five theaters in May, where it averaged $16,835. Michael Moore’s Where to Invade Next, made an average of $2,912 in 208 theaters in February.
Hillary’s America also had best location average except for Vaxed: From Cover Up to Catastrophe, which debuted in only one theater.
All three of Hillary’s America theaters were in conservative strongholds of Dallas, Houston, and Phoenix.
