Obama chum and unrepentant domestic terrorist Bill Ayers was left defenseless to the truth-bomb conservative filmmaker and author Dinesh D’Souza set off against him during a criminal justice inequality debate for the Young America’s Foundation Freedom Lecture Series.
The question was, “Do either of you feel our criminal justice has become too political?”
Ayers, clad in a “Black Lives Matter” T-shirt, began saying, “Our political justice system is a catastrophe and what was exposed in Ferguson that the criminal justice system is powered, the financing of it, is powered by the targeting of poor people.”
“One of my sons is a public defender in San Francisco,” Ayers continued. “He deals with poor people everyday who are run through the system for the most petty things and they absolutely are caught up in a vice that really steals from them and purrs along in an oppressive way.”
Going more personal, Ayers called out D’Souza’s prior felony political donation, saying politics can be bought and sold to the highest bidder. He mocked the conservative, who spent one night in jail after his arrest, saying at the time, he offered to write the judge on behalf of D’Souza to spare him from prison and instead send him to North Carolina and register voters “which would fit the crime of corrupting the political process in New York,” Ayers said.
D’Souza reared back and let Ayers have it:
The inequity of our criminal justice system is on full display right on this podium right here. So, I gave $20,000 of my own money over the campaign finance limit, I got eight months in overnight confinement. You bombed the Pentagon and tried to bomb all kinds of other things. [wild audience applause] How much time did you do in the slammer?
Ayers tried to play the truth off by deflecting back to D’Souza’s “admitted felony,” an offense Ayers said was “pretty serious offense in a democracy to buy an election.” The audience was not kind to the American dissenter, sending a sea of jeers his way.
D’Souza went on to explain to Ayers how being a conservative makes one more of a target than someone of his progressive ilk. He brought up another case where a man of similar ethnicity gave $180,000 in straw donations to Hillary Clinton and a host of other Democrats — the same man found guilty of witness tampering and who boasted about corruption. And like D’Souza, he goes before a federal judge in New York but instead, gets off scot-free.
“So, here’s my point,” D’Souza added. “Yes, justice is a matter of ‘did you break the law.’ But it’s also a matter of ‘does the penalty fit the crime.’ Do other guys who do the same thing get roughly the same offense? Under the Obama administration, I will say, that progressive justice is a complete sham. It’s an oxymoron.”
Watch the pummeling below:
If further proof is needed that conservatives are targets, this related news information might suffice: D’Souza is scheduled to speak at the private Catholic Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington this month. There is one stipulation put on his speech as detailed by a conservative student activist: “the speech is only open to Gonzaga students and faculty, and not the community… a decision made by the head of Gonzaga Campus Security, Director of Community and Public Relations, and the Dean of Students.”
According to those three entities, “Dinesh D’Souza’s beliefs are contradictory to Gonzaga’s social justice mission and they do not want the public to question why the school brought him in.” They are calling him “homophobic” and “anti-immigration,” while ignoring he is an immigrant himself. The conservative student was also told by the school, “through the research they deemed Dinesh D’Souza a ‘nasty guy’ who is ‘way out there’ and has been ‘caught in many lies in his past.'”
It is noted that this isn’t the first time Gonzaga has closed off the public from coming to hear a conservative speaker.
