NYT: In ‘Hillary’s America,’ Dinesh D’Souza Warns Of A Plan To ‘Steal’ the Country

Originally posted at The New York Times by Glenn Kenny.

The new movie by the conservative author and pundit Dinesh D’Souza, “Hillary’s America,” directed and written with Bruce Schooley, opens with an animated montage of a map of the United States going up in flames in various spots. A close-up image of Hillary Clinton caps the scene. The film then recounts Mr. D’Souza’s own guilty plea to violating federal campaign finance laws. He was set up, he insists. “If you make a film criticizing the most powerful man in the world,” he says, referring to his 2012 documentary, “2016: Obama’s America,” “expect the empire to strike back.”

“What if the goal of the Democratic Party is to steal the most valuable thing the world has ever produced?” Mr. D’Souza muses from a halfway house where he’s staying as part of the plea deal. In this scene, a dramatic re-enactment, he watches Ms. Clinton announce her campaign for president. “What if their plan is to steal — America?” On these words, Mr. D’Souza’s eyes shift from the ceiling-mounted TV display to stare straight into the camera. It’s very Dramatic Chipmunk.

Once the hero’s journey theme is established, it’s on to about an hour’s worth of “the Democratic Party was the party of slavery” material. This content, and more (including a young actress playing Ms. Clinton as a practically lunatic student radical), will be familiar to anyone who’s examined a right-wing website.

When Mr. D’Souza describes the effects of Andrew Jackson’s Indian Removal Act, he intones, “It was a trail of tears,” as if he has just come up with the phrase. This is typical of his method. According to a certain interpretation of the auteur theory, a film’s value derives from the extent to which it communicates the personality and character of its director. Judged by that standard alone, I suppose “Hillary’s America” is some kind of masterpiece.

“Hillary’s America: The Secret History of the Democratic Party” is rated PG-13 (Parents strongly cautioned) for scary images of Hillary Clinton and every other Democrat featured.

For a long time I have held a deep admiration for Dinesh D’Souza. I’ve read 6 of his books, and thoroughly enjoy his fervent defense of Christianity in debates. I even share his political views. But if he is a Trump (a vile, hateful “human” being) supporter, then I’m afraid my admiration may have been misplaced. I can’t see anyone voting for Trump for reasons other than hatred and resentment at the core. Hillary wouldn’t be my first choice in any other year. But there isn’t a word or phrase I can use to describe the visceral effect my body has when imagining Trump as President. The fact that he’s the nominee of a once proud party is an inconceivable disgrace.

Well, I love Donald Trump but I also respect the writings that D’Souza has published. This man was put through a terrible ordeal.
Is Hillary setting up our Nation to allow the Muslim Brotherhood to take over our Nation at the top? These Middle Eastern countries have paid her Millions or maybe even by now, Billions to affect the outcome of this election and to their bidding for this Country and how it is to run in the future?

Mr. D’Souza, With respect, your opinion of Donald Trump has been entirely sculpted by the media, which has ignored and suppressed the truth about the real man and created a racistsexistbullybuffoon caricature with his name & face – the big lie in action. It has been wall-to-wall attacks, so effective that even those who support him are embarrassed to admit it. This is a major psyop, so pervasive that all who support Mr. Trump are seen as contemptible. PSYchological OPerations are built on emotion – in this case fear & loathing. Donald Trump is the greatest threat to globalism, so his name is never mentioned in any media without at least one disparaging comment supporting the racistsexistbullybuffoon storyline. It’s so insidious that millions have been manipulated into loathing him – a highly successful psyop and you are one of its victims. You don’t think so? Then why, exactly, do you loathe him? A person is defined by his actions and 35 years of public actions define Mr Trump – what do you know of them? I’ll be happy to send you some factual information if you’re interested – there’s an enormous treasure trove being ignored or turned on its head. Donald Trump is an unprecedented creative success, and did you know that the Trump Org. was one of the first to give women equal pay for equal work and no glass ceiling? It’s sadly still one of the few and no sexist or misogynist would ever permit such a thing. And Mr. Trump is as much a racist as he is a sexist, which is why he has the support of black pastors and legal immigrants. Objection to illegal immigration does not make someone a racist, yet the media psyop has convinced millions that it does.

You may not like Trump but he has not been in an elected office. He will NOT OWE favors or payback to anyone. He will put in his cabinet learned men/women who love America and want to restore us to number one again.
