Producer Molen Gets Shunned

The film I’ve been working on, 2016: Obama’s America, has the benefit of having a great producer, Gerald Molen. He has worked with Steven Spielberg on multiple films including as co-producer of Schindler’s List.

Gerald Molen (Credit to Riccardo Vecchio)

If you haven’t heard about this you will soon: Molen was to deliver the commencement speech at a Montana high school, but was turned away when he arrived because he was “a right-wing conservative” even though his speech was to be about courage.

The Hollywood Reporter has the full story here.

The film (coming out in just a few weeks) hasn’t even been seen and some people are trying to discredit it by saying that President Obama’s past is off limits. The film is not a propaganda piece against the President. Rather it is a documentary and investigation into who Obama is, the individuals that influence him as he grew up and the source of his ideas—his inner compass.

What is it about this film that makes the Left so nervous? It might be that it will lift the veil on Obama’s past for the first time.

I’m really looking forward to the film. Interesting (and very sad) that almost any leftist activist is welcome to speak anywhere and about anything with no worries about content.

I had the pleasure of watching the movie premiere and meeting Mr. D’Souza last night in Houston,TX. It was a real eye opener. I highly recommend that people go and watch this movie and see for themselfs and to make their own conclusion. God Bless America!

Ridiculous! Where I lived in Montana this Principal would be fired!
You’d think you were in Seattle or Portland or san Francisco!

My guess is that the school did not want any additional press on the matter and therefore opted to cancel the speaker. Stop being so dramatic.

I am really excited about the movie. I am a little nervous that “the powers that be” are going to somehow prohibit it from coming out…..or FORCE a lot of editing on the movie. It will be interesting to see how this unfolds. You know, I have always wondered why no one that went to school with Obama in Hawaii or lived by Obama in Hawaii, or was friends with Obama in Hawaii have EVER come out in his defense regarding his being born in America. Not ONE PERSON has come to defend him……Not ONE!

There is a very obvious effort by Obama’s cohorts to silent those he does not want to speak the truth. Our 2nd amendment rights are being violated by the very person who is most responsible to defend and uphold the constitution of the US – the president. He does not deserve to be in that position, never should have been elected to that esteemed office, and hopefully will be ousted in the next election. His philosophy is filtering down through the US society and it is wrong. Glad for this movie and looking forward to it being released…

I, too, am very much looking forward to this film. I want to know the full truth about Obama. Here’s hoping this film will help to get him voted out of office. We must protect our nation from another 4 years of his terrible judgement.

I and many of my friends are very anxious to see this film & are willing to drive a long distance to view it. I like others fear that Obamas forces will block it’s release, at least untill after November. Is there a chance that it could be released on DVD even if not in theaters?? It would sell in the Millions of copys.

    • Julie McGowan July 3, 2012 at 1:44 pm #

I agree with the selling of DVDs even if it is ALSO released before November. Why all all politicians “vetted” except our current President???

      • Evan August 12, 2012 at 10:58 pm #

Julie and others with the same question “Why are all politicians vetted except our current president?”

The state attorney general of each state is responsible for vetting who gets on the ballot for that state.

I called my state attorney general’s office in 2008 before the last presidential election to ask one question, “Does Barack Obama meet the constitutional qualifications to be president of the United States?”

The answer was, “The state attorney general asks the majority leader of the senate if the candidates are qualified.” If the answer is yes, then the candidate meets the qualifications. That person in 2008 was Nancy Pelosi. She wrote a letter stating that Obama met the constitutional qualifications. No proof of eligibility under the constitution is required.

I followed up with, “So the state attorney general doesn’t examine the constitutional qualifications of the candidates?” The answer was, “No.”

So there you have it. Your state attorney general’s current procedures are the reason why Obama got on the ballot. Essentially, they ignore the US constitution and ask someone else.

There’s a huge hole in our election system. We need to fix it.

Does anyone know where to view the full length movie on-line for free or for a one-time charge? I found one place but it requires a subscription to their service. Hoyt

God bless you Mr. Molen for making this movie! I can’t wait to see it!

  11. Barbara July 18, 2012 at 7:39 pm #

I am impressed he was shunned….this means it must be a GREAT FILM!

  12. Mary Ann Miller July 25, 2012 at 4:11 pm #

I saw the movie while I’m still reading the book. The movie is fabulous! It is one of the most well done documentarys I’ve ever seen with the excellent filming and background music. The truth about Obama convicts me even more that he should be fired in November!
Bottomline—EVERYONE should see this before November.

Please try to get the movie to the swing states !!!

Molen should record the commencement speech on YouTube….

  14. Maureen August 2, 2012 at 9:24 pm #

It’s time to put a stop to the left’s lack of manners, lack of respect for other people, and its constant use of the bullying techniques of retribution and coercion towards those who hold differing opinions. I look forward to listening to Molen’s commencement speech on youtube. I’m sure the written version would be printed in The Wall Street Journal. I think every citizen and parent in that High School community should receive Mr. Molen’s speech in the mail and be told what happened and how the man was insulted–I’m sure they have no idea. Equipping the people with this information will ensure that they vote out the Board of education members responsible for allowing such a despicable acvtion to take place.

I just saw the documentary 2016 in Anchorage, Alaska, at its first screening. The theater was nearly full. I saw this movie with my teenager, who requested that I take him. My mixed-ethnicity teenager is not a fan of Obama, and resents the way he has played the race card to appeal to white people’s guilt and get himself elected, while annexing one half of his ethnic composition for political gain. If my child can discern this, how pathetic is it that the vast majority of nervous liberal whites, desperate to prove they are not prejudiced, cannot see it? Obama’s arrogant attitude is so abundantly clear, I am continually amazed that people don’t find him off-putting. But my dislike of this president—our worst president in my lifetime of five decades—is not based on his lack of personal integrity. I think he has set out to damage this nation beyond repair. Indeed, how can a highly-educated person (he went to Harvard, you know, and don’t you forget it!), surrounded by intelligent and equally well-educated advisors, continue to spend this nation’s money like a drunken sailor on shore leave, driving our national deficit higher and higher? It does not make sense. Until you see Dinesh D’Souza’s documentary. D’Souza and Molen flawlessly weave the facts together to connect the dots and present a well-researched, well-thought out story—one that leaves you with a profound sense of sadness, fear and anger about how America has been duped. If Obama is re-elected, we as a nation will be totally screwed. I left the theater wanting to cry. I love this country, and I do not understand why my some of my neighbors, co-workers and friends are either too complacent or too guilty about being white or too married to their political party to see that we are being taken for fools by Obama and his twisted hatred of colonialism-based nations. GO SEE THIS MOVIE.

Molen was Hollywood’s darling as long it was a film that did not get in the way of their political agenda (It has not changed).

My suggestion is that the next time Molen is asked to speak he have a signed contract with damages if the sponor pulls out and that he pull a permit so he can give his remarks on the street.

Our group arranged for Star Parker to speak at St. Thomas University in the Twin Cities. They pulled out and we had a truck and a sound system ready for her to give her speech on the truck lift.

The mainstream left media will never let the truth get out. Thank God for the internet and brave men and women on the right!

I found the movie well researched and factual. I have spent many years reading history books about the colonioal powers in africa and the history of the state of israel. The info is all there for anyone who is brave enough to do the research.I am very glad Mr D’Souza made this documentary for the people in america who do not have the time to find this material on their own

I am writing because it seems that the Obama film is not showing anywhere close to Philadelphia. I am interested in seeing it and am concerned that it’s showing seems to be deliberately refused to the citizens here. Is there any truth to this and what is being done to remedy the problem?

  19. Jackie August 11, 2012 at 8:22 pm #

When is it coming to lib-ville Arlington VA 22206? Can’t wait to see it. Us Conservatives here have to keep a low profile but we are slowly surfacing and want to see this film pronto! Kudos to Molen – it is an affirmative when you get shunned these days…

  20. Erin August 14, 2012 at 2:44 am #

A WONDERFUL film, brilliant in how it is simply done! A must-see, bring all of your friends…whatever their political persuasion. Dinesh could have gone on for hours but kept the facts simple and easy to digest. I feel like i know better now what makes Obama tick, and it is sickening, really, how complacent we Americans are. I am so thankful for courageous D’Souza!!

  21. Walt August 20, 2012 at 8:46 am #

Saw the movie in Palisades Mall, NY. It was better attended than I’d expected, and I was glad for that. I’m also now reading the book. Both are the kind of quality we’ve come to expect from D’Souza.

  22. j August 20, 2012 at 4:36 pm #

On Aug 24th, the movie is going to be released in many more markets…so check for your city then. Right now, its in limited release and not in very many markets other than major cities. But on Aug 24th, the truth will be spread even further to those willing to open their eyes and ears.

  23. Carolyn Nungesser August 23, 2012 at 12:27 pm #

I will see the movie this weekend with my husband. If I could I would drag my best friend to see it so that her eyes could finally be opened to the truth about the man she admires.

God bless all who had the courage and patriotism to bring this to the big screen. You make the founding fathers and many Americans proud!

  24. Kay Delano August 29, 2012 at 10:13 pm #

Thank you, thank you, thank you. My husband and I saw the movie today and were blown away. I see now how gullible we are as a nation. Prayerfully I hope that changes soon. Thank you for having the courage to reveal the real Obama when the mainstream media hides it’s cowardly head in the sand.

I just saw the movie with my two sons and came away so saddened at how far we have let our country fall – and fail. I suppose it is just too much to ask the American people to “go home and rethink their lives”. We’d have to admit we were stupid or lied to and that seems hard to swallow. This is Stalin and Hitler and the Muslim Brotherhood and so many other sociopaths who seem destined to take a country down. I’ve read the Book and I know how it ends, but I’m so deeply saddened for my children and their future (or lack of one). I thank God there are still men who are willing to do what it takes to put honesty in front of a society that almost seems to want to be lied to.

The film explains the arrogance, the incredibly unconstitutional decisions that have been made and the general atmosphere of degeneration we are experiencing in this country. I am going to pray every day that the filth that permeates the White House is sent packing this November.

I saw the movie last night am totally baffled by the comments so far. This is one of the most one-sided views of a great american story of somenone who overcome all odds to become president of the United States. I love the US and Obama’s story proves what a great country this is. I am surprised at the raw hatred displayed in the comments about this incendiary movie. I’m sure Mr. D’sousa will enjoy spending the opportinistic money he has earned (I didn’t pay I was taken by a conservative friend of mind who wanted to show me the “truth”).

  27. Margaret Brice September 5, 2012 at 11:20 pm #

I saw the movie, I did not see it as a one sided film… just the facts about Obama’s mentors and why he believes in increasing the debt.. . his anti Isreal positions. It seems he his more concerned about stripping wealth from Americans to give abroad than strengthening the middle class as he says. He has said himself he believes in sharing the wealth. That means everyone is poor except the government..this is what he wants to do in the next four years.

Saw the movie yesterday with 7 of the family. Very well done; and as advertised, eye opening.

  29. Don Eikermann September 9, 2012 at 10:04 pm #

Just saw the movie this afternoon. Very eye opening and also scary. We cannot let this guy be re-elected. Highly recommend everyone spread the word about going to see the movie.

  30. Linda Campbell September 16, 2012 at 8:39 pm #

The movie was sorely needed. I certainly hand it to Mr. D’Souza for both the book and the movie. A great deal of hard work went into both.
